The Animals Rescue People"
This phrase has become our mantra to several programs, including:
Veterans to the Rescue
T.E.X.A.S. Rescue is now the official Veterans program for Hood County, TX as we join forces with Veteran Services, Pecan Valley Centers. "Veterans to the Rescue" is our program for those living with PTSD, as working with our therapy donkeys allows learned trust by animals and humans.
Kids & Kritters Art
This program teaches our youth how to tap into their artistic abilities by using our animals as models while learning stewardship of animals.
Strive to Educate
T.E.X.A.S. Rescue makes frequent visits to retirement homes, hospice patients and schools. We strive to educate and share smiles with all ages. PLUS, we encourage schools to take a field trip to our facility for the ultimate immersive experience for their students!
Children's Reading
We are currently developing a children's reading program to further youth skills and assist in gentling our rescued animals. In addition, we are working on a program for Autism!
Donkey Therapy Park
T.E.X.A.S. Rescue is the recent recipient of the Leadership Granbury Nonprofit Award for 2023-2024. Leadership Granbury has completed building an all-new Donkey Therapy Park at T.E.X.A.S. Rescue, to be used by Veterans, youth, first responders, other nonprofits and more!
