"Josie"

Josie, short for Josephine Earp, as in wife of Wyatt Earp, is a 17-year-old Belgian Draft that was rescued from a kill pen and on her way to slaughter in Mexico after being given up by the Amish. She is 16.2HH and weighs in at roughly 1,800 pounds! She’s a big lovable girl that seems to have been lucky enough in her previous life that she did not suffer a lot of heavy-handedness. Josie loves attention and does not run away when approached. Woohoo!

It was noted that Josie is apparently broke to both ride and drive! We are letting her settle into her new lifestyle and home. The only minor issue that she has is a bit of cellulitis in her left hind leg. It will most likely not cause her any type of setback, and she will also be a part of the T.E.X.A.S. Rescue educational program!

Stay tuned for more of her accomplishments once we get her under saddle!

If you would like to sponsor Josie in her retirement, please contact T.E.X.A.S. Rescue for details! All donations and sponsorships help with everyday care, veterinary bills and feeding of our animals.

Thank you for your support!
