oliver– 20 y.o. Spotted Jack Donkey (intact)

Of all of the donkeys that we have been exposed to over the decades, never have we seen one as verbally abused as Oliver. He had no name, was alone all of his life, allowed to gorge himself on lush green pasture, uncared for, and verbally abused by his owners! He was constantly screamed at in a high-pitched woman’s voice, and was petrified of everyone. He was untouchable and the most morbidly obese donkey in our rescue history! Approximately 150-200 pounds overweight! Unhealthy and fearful made for a challenging rescue and rehab. A new diet, learning that people really do have low, non threatening voices, and it was safe to be touched and have your feet trimmed! Oliver is making headway, albeit slow and cautious. He now enjoys being petted and comes to you when he hears his name. His weight loss will take a very long time, so as to protect his health. Unfortunately, he is too old to be castrated, so a specialized lifestyle and roommates will be critical. If you have never seen abuse turn to love, you need to meet Oliver!

Virtual Adoptions are based on a per month donation of $100, with a term of 12 months, equaling $1200 total for the one-year adoption. Virtual Adoptions may be paid in-full at the beginning of the adoption, or an adopter may pay monthly, with the $100 being due by the 1st of each month.
