GHOST– 30 y.o. Mammoth Donkey (gelding)

Rescued along with another Mammoth Donkey who was abandoned. He came to us fearful of not knowing a halter and how to lead. At one point in his life he was excessively obese, as evidence by the large broken crest of his neck! In the last couple of years that Ghost has been with us, his vision is deteriorating, leaving him blind in his left eye, and reduced vision in his right. His poor vision resulted in a terrible self-inflicted injury a few months ago. Tossing his head down to his chest (presumably for an itch) his nasal bone made contact with a tree branch, which shattered his nasal cavity. Thanks to the outstanding work by our veterinarians, he has healed extremely well! BTW… he did not get his name because of being white in color! His bray is the rarest we have ever heard as he sounds like a moaning ghost… WooOoooOoo!  He is the epitome of a big, loving lug!

Virtual Adoptions are based on a per month donation of $100, with a term of 12 months, equaling $1200 total for the one-year adoption. Virtual Adoptions may be paid in-full at the beginning of the adoption, or an adopter may pay monthly, with the $100 being due by the 1st of each month.
